Happy New Year Y'all! I haven't blogged forever like and 2018 is gonna be a banner year for me and our blog, "R" Crazy Re-Fined Life. It feels great to pull all this together and get back in the saddle again.
I love journaling/blogging and this is where I am turning to, to let it all out. The good, the bad and the ugly of our life in 2018. I hope that you join me for our journey of "enjoyed chaos".
I think this year I am going to start Monday's off with a theme of #MemoryMonday. I love photos and like most people, my phone is filled with them. My daughter-in-law, Janna, is great about getting them printed off, I am not so great. My father reminds me this ALOT.
So, here I will share some of my photos of the past year or so on our #MemoryMonday.
Today's #MemoryMonday I share with you, my Grandmothers. I am a blessed girl with lots of strong women in my life, but these two where driving forces in my youth and young adult life.
At 93 Grandma Virginia (Ginny to most) is still with us. She helped not only raise me but my boys too. When they were mere babes we lived a house down from her and believe me she made the trip down the street a lot. We are blessed to have her with us still. I try to pop in and see her once a week.
My Grandma Vern passed away when I was in High School. She taught me a lot at her knee. My love for baking and artsy craft came from her I do believe. She had a wonderful way of making something out of nothing. Yes, that is me that she is holding.
These two ladies are what inspire me today in my relationship with our Miss Adeline. I hope to influence her in the positive ways that both of my grandmothers have influenced me over the years.
Till next time my friends!
There are many things that makes me recall memories of those who have past. I have been blessed with some great ladies in my life. I am pretty sure that they are my pull to things vintage. It keeps all those past good memories alive.
I also believe that food is a memory trigger too. I love re-creating recipes handed down to me throughout the years. This past weekend my loving memories have been in full force. At times making me a little weep eyed.
First I found a skirt that reminded me of my Grandma Vern. She would of paired it with a white blouse, a pair of pearls and a pair of her Grasshopper flats. You can learn more about this skirt, along with a few other of my weekend finds on our new "Latest Finds" page.
Then for the second time this week we made my Aunt June Bug's, famous rice, per my sons. I love it because its three only ingredients-Jasmine Rice (Aldi's), Kerry Gold Butter, and sweet condensed milk.
The Jasmine Rice is my new go to for rice. I have officially said good-bye to Minute Rice. Once you try it, you will understand why and I promise you will love it.
The simple recipe is as follows:
4-6 Servings of Cooked Rice
1 Stick of Kerry Gold Butter or butter of choice
1 Can of Sweet Condensed Milk
Mix together with cooked rice an wa la!
I hope you enjoy the rice and thank you for sharing my memories with me this Monday.
Till next time!
I hope this finds you all running and screaming excitedly into the weekend, like we are around here. Many things are going on today and the best thing of all is that our little Sweet Adeline will be arriving tonight with her parents. Dan and I so can't wait to spoil her in the upcoming days.
I am also excited that the door of Triple "R' is starting to open again. Reconnecting with all of you and taking our life long baby in some what of a new direction with great things on the horizon. As things unfold I will start to let the cat out of the bag so to speak.
We are excited to be on this journey in our life right now, even though it is stressful at times. So sit back and enjoy the moment with us as we start to kick open another door here on the ridge!
Have a great weekend!
Happy Mid Summer all! I hope this finds all of you well and happy.
I have really been MIA for quite sometime. I hope that you all can forgive me.
We have a lot of irons in the fire right now and those of you that know me,
know that I am having a ball!
Daniel and I have been working hard on our business No Pressure Services.
If you haven't seen or heard about it, I really urge you to check it out at www.nopressureservices.com.
We are a mobile hydraulic repair service and it's pretty cool. Dan and our middle Son, Zack are running it and I am the office girl and head cheerleader or marketing directory if you so choose.
Since I am such the social butterfly, a few months ago I picked up a jewelry line called Chloe + Isabel, which I am so in love with, to help get me out of the house.
Check out my online boutique www.chloeandisabel.com/boutique/amysmith0523.
Now that things are sort of slowing down and getting a rhythm, I would like to start Triple "R" Creations back up in a new and re-defined way with my girls. So stay tuned!
This week we are in Puerto Rico visiting our youngest son, Dakota and daughter-in-law, Janna. Today we are celebrating Miss Adeline's First Birthday and we will be doing one of her favorite things today and that is going to the beach. At only one the girl already knows how to have a good time. She might get that from her Gigi.
Before she was born a few of my friends all told me that grand kids are the bomb and that they are way more fun than your kids. Wow were they right. Adeline has Dan and I wrapped around that little pinkie of hers. This week we will be celebrating all things Adeline and the joy that she has brought to us!
Later in the week I will share highlights from our week in Puerto Rico too. This really is a beautiful island with beautiful people.
When you clean up one room that it turns other rooms into a mini or in some cases a gigantic mess. That is what happened to us this past weekend. I couldn't take the office anymore and it needed a cleaning out, but just don't look at our living room right this minute because of it.
I would love to say that our house was "show quality" all the time, but that is just not reality. It is best friends "only" quality at all times. These are the friends that know and accept the reality of your life. Luckily, we are not like filthy dirty just messy and at times disorganized.
The pics below are the before. Mine is the really messy corner on the left and this is due to our house being a storage facility for our youngest son who is currently stationed in Puerto Rico. Also, before the photos were taken Dan had done a little cleanup too. LOL
We are always on the go and right now 80% of our time is spent upstairs in the office. When you look at our house picture above it's the little barn nest at the top. Quite frankly it is a pleasant little space and it's painted a tranquil grey.
I am really happy how the office space turned out. We have lived here going on three years and we now finally have pictures hung on the wall. Dan came up with the center table from some spare table tops that we had lying around. It's a nice spot to hold our office meetings. I must say he is pretty crafty.
We need a few more pieces for the office space-especially storage and mail station. I think I may have an old cupboard in storage that will get a little re-creating for this purpose. At the time of this blog post everything looks pretty much the same. I love how things went from ugly and cluttery to livable and happy.
P.S. Our furniture is IKEA.
What do you mean by "Posh" you ask? Poshmark the online selling site for women's, men and kids clothing, along with makeup, shoes, handbags and jewelry. It's also the place that has me hooked on my Rae Dunn pottery addiction.
I highly recommend that if you have ever wanted to sell things online but were afraid to try, then Poshmark is the place for you. My son's girlfriend, Kristen, got me "poshing" and she has sold a ton.
You can only list items with your smart phone. Start by downloading the app. Then from there just follow the steps and snap a few photos, list your information and name your price. You can also give a discount for bundling items together.
By now you must be asking how do you ship it? They buyer pays for shipping, at a discounted rate. When you make a sale they email you a pre-paid, pre-addressed label and thats it. I do wrap mine up real pretty and drop a little "thank you" note for shopping my closet.
You can either have them put your money into your bank account or hold it so that you can make purchases. I have sold quite a few items of clothing to build my Rae Dunn collection. It's way more fun than driving around with a bag or two of clothes for Goodwill in your car.

I hope this finds you all happy and healthy. A lot has been going on here at the cottage and I don't even know where to start. I guess the best place to start is to tell you that I have left my day job as a project manager for the furniture hospitality company. Yep I said left. Also, Dan left his day job too. No I swear we have not gone crazy. Well at least not bat poop crazy.
I also wish we could say that we left to pursue our passion of recreating furniture, but I can't say that either . Dan's background is hydraulics and he has been in this field for over 30 years. I know he doesn't look a day over 40, right? It's all the adventures that I keep him on.
He and I put together a great business plan and sold it to the bank. Can you believe they bought it? No seriously, Dan is an expert in this field and I am an expert in small business and from this "No Pressure Services" was born. Our desire is to provide great customer service with a great product and at a reasonable price.
All of our experience and knowledge, helped us to create a mobile hydraulic hose repair business. Our trucks will stock lots of hoses, fittings and adapters. I tease and say that the truck will have more than the shoes in my closet.
The goal is by the end of year to have another tuck up and running covering the northern part of the state, with Dan covering the southern part. We also hope to bring our children into the business along the way.
I will be at home a few days a week manning the phones and helping Dan from behind the scenes. The other few at least in the beginning I will be out helping Dan meet and greet our customers. I also hope to spend more time at home too, blogging and ever changing our home decor.
I have linked our logo to our website, but it is under construction and our truck is linked to our facebook page. Please be sure to stop by and like us.
We are excited to start this journey together and we look forward to growing this business together for our family.
Stay tuned because I promise to share this adventure every step of the way.
First of all let me say I am sorry to you.
I went on and on about how I was going to do great with all my
new year resolutions.
Unfortunately, I have already faltered on this one.
I have not blogged since January 2.
All that crazy traveling that I did for my day job,
from after Thanksgiving to the week of Christmas caught up with this girl.
Health-wise I thought I was doing great after my holiday hiatus.
I was working out, logging my food, drinking my water and managing my stress.
Two weeks ago, with 3 doctors later, an ambulance ride to the emergency room, I am on the road to recovery with a different out look on life.
That is that excessive amounts of travel and work related stress are not my friends.
Today Daniel and I are suppose to be in
Waco, Texas at the Silo's.
I was advised that I should skip this trip and delay any travel for a few months.
When I got into the office this past Wednesday, I had the most wonderful gift ever.
Yes, I cried. I work with GREAT WOMEN and I mean GREAT.
Vickey, my expeditor left me the sweetest note along with the best present. She always knows what I need and right now this is all the Waco I need.
Enjoy your Saturday! Till next time!
All of the comments and opinions in this post are our own and we only share products that we use ourselves.
I must say that I have been blessed with my skin because of my Native American heritage. Thank you Great-Grandmother Paynter. I will say though that when I travel and eat bad (yes this happens), get tired and stressed, it shows in my skin (ok so my waistline too).
Most times when I travel I travel by plane and only take a carry on, herein is where the problem lies. TSA is not a big fan when it comes to a women's toilietry case. The soap that I posted about a few days ago (another free give-away) tends to look like bricks of C-4 according to the nice gentelman who last checked my bag at security.
Now I just take the bare necessities, unless I want to run the risk of loosing a lot of good product to the trash. The one thing that I love to use in the shower when I first get home is my Melaleuca Affinia facial scrub. I cannot tell you how good it feels to scrub all the stress and tiredness away with this scrub.
Daniel and I have been using Melaleuca products for about 6 months or so and we are HOOKED. Over the last year I have really revamped our life with non-toxin and natural products and Melaleuca makes it easy and it's delivered right to our door.
Your skin is always replenishing itself with fresh, new cells. The Affinia facial scrub uses gentle, revitalizing biodegrabable wax to effectively buff away old, dead skin, revealing your face's natural radiance. The active ingredients are glycerin, buttersilk and vitamins.
I would like to sign 10 people up this year who are interested in using some of the best non-toxic products on the market. Please feel free to reach out to me, because Melaleuca has so much to offer from nutrition, to household and beauty products, to name a few.
*GIVE AWAY* (Starting to feel like Oprah here!) Be the first person to reach out to me about this great product and receive a free bottle of Melaleuca Affinia Facial Scrub. Also, to help all of you become free of household toxins in your home this new year, ask me how you can enroll today for $1.00. You will be so glad that you did!
